Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Laboratory Processor for the day shift at the Wexford Hospital to receive, prepare, and process specimens efficiently. This role involves test order entry, specimen verification, and maintaining lab workflows.

The position emphasizes accurate data entry, handling of specimens, and collaboration with physicians and staff to ensure high-quality patient care. On-site responsibilities include instrument operation and mentorship of MLA students.

Qualifications

• 3 months of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Registration and medical terminology knowledge.
• Preferred: laboratory training program or degree in clinical sciences.

Responsabilités

• Registers patients and performs test order entry into the laboratory information system.
• Verifies specimen identification and processes specimens per procedures.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient operations.
• Provides support such as answering phones, faxing reports, and send-outs.
• Operates and maintains instrumentation and troubleshoots problems.
• Mentors MLA students in specimen processing per WPAHS policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
