Qualifications

• 3 months of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Registration and medical terminology knowledge.
• Preferred: laboratory training program or degree in clinical sciences.

Responsibilities

• Registers patients and performs test order entry into the laboratory information system.
• Verifies specimen identification and processes specimens per procedures.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient operations.
• Provides support such as answering phones, faxing reports, and send-outs.
• Operates and maintains instrumentation and troubleshoots problems.
• Mentors MLA students in specimen processing per WPAHS policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
