Job summary

The American Oncology Network, Inc. is seeking a Medical Lab Assistant to support physicians in the Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders. You will perform phlebotomy and laboratory testing, ensure quality control, and troubleshoot instruments to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

The role includes preparing slides, coordinating outside labs, documenting test results, and assisting with patient prep and post-test tasks in a fast-paced multi-site clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; BLS certification as required by state.
• Minimum one year of medical assistant experience in a clinic or physician office.
• Ability to perform venipuncture and handle laboratory specimens per protocol.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with procedures and phlebotomy in office settings.
• Perform laboratory blood work and quality control procedures accurately.
• Handle specimen processing, slides, and outside lab referrals as needed.
• Maintain logs, equipment records, and QA/QC documentation.
• Operate EMR system and ensure proper charting of results.
