Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician to perform laboratory analyses on clinical specimens, ensuring high quality, safety, and efficiency in daily duties. The role includes testing, troubleshooting, and reporting results in accordance with regulatory standards, while maintaining equipment and instructing trainees as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience performing lab analyses or related duties is advantageous.
• Familiarity with QA/QC processes in a clinical lab.
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information System (LIS) operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs, reviews, and reports complex lab tests per procedures and standards.
• Maintains equipment and workstation; ensures safety and compliance.
• Troubleshoots testing and QC issues per SOPs and guides.
• Assists in training new staff and students as needed.
• Manages reagents and supply inventory to reduce waste and cost.
• Communicates findings with supervisor, pathologist, or lead.
• Supports compliance with confidentiality and lab procedures.
