Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is seeking a laboratory support professional to perform specimen processing and moderate complexity testing under the supervision of a Laboratory Supervisor.

The role emphasizes respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in every patient encounter and collaboration with clinical staff. Responsibilities include receiving and processing specimens, centrifuging, aliquoting, and reporting results per established CLIA procedures.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or GED.
• CLIA Section 493.1421 requirements.
• Specialized knowledge: Computer literacy/fluency; Human relations and communication skills; Computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, packages, labels, and sends out specimens as directed.
• Receives specimen from pneumatic tube system and centrifuges specimens as needed.
• Centrifuge blood and urine specimens for analysis.
• Aliquot specimens and prepare for analysis.
• Performs waived and moderately complexity testing per CLIA and reports results.
• Supports technologists by loading and maintaining instruments and handling reagents.
