Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Clinic Lab Assistant who can work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple modalities. Compensation depends on modalities performed; candidates without experience may be considered for apprenticeship.

Regular in-person attendance during scheduled hours is essential. Successful applicants will perform a range of laboratory tasks, from specimen processing to clerical duties, while maintaining confidentiality and quality standards.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• PBT ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for department operations.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate basic problem solving to support patient care.
• Handle hospital communication tasks, including on-call duties.
• Demonstrate effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Use professional judgment with clients, patients, and coworkers.
• Perform clerical tasks including documenting critical communications when supervisor is absent.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Support on-call coverage during holidays/evenings/weekends as needed.
• Operate basic PC systems and department equipment.
