Northwestern Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant II for a full-time, 40-hour work week at the Cancer Center in Warrenville, IL. The position is hourly with a salary range of $20.80–$28.08, requiring a High School Diploma and at least 1 year in a lab, phlebotomy, or specimen processing setting.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, data entry in LIS, quality control, phlebotomy and coordination with lab staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a general lab, specimen processing or phlebotomy area.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with lab staff and other departments to ensure patient care.
• Receive specimens into the laboratory information system.
• Input and retrieve lab results in the LIS or hospital system.
• Process specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
• Distribute specimens to the appropriate testing area.
• Identify and solve problems with supervision or coworkers.
• Verify instrument/test kit accuracy; perform quality control and troubleshooting.
• Operate and maintain lab automation systems as appropriate.
• Perform diagnostic/analytic testing and report results to providers.
• Ensure correct test ordering and reference lab referrals for specimens.
• Communicate specimen rejections or critical results to clinical staff; document accordingly.
• Review refrigerator temperatures and QA records; log corrective actions.
