Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls is seeking a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. You will collect samples, process orders, perform CLIA waived tests, and provide quality patient care under physician supervision.

This role emphasizes accurate labeling, data entry, and strong customer service by phone and in person. Education: HS diploma, BLS; phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education and certification requirements are HS diploma and BLS.
• Phlebotomy course or experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples with proper patient identification and labeling.
• Process routine and specialty testing and report results to physicians.
• Provide excellent customer service over the phone and in person to patients, doctors and staff.
• Enter doctor orders and data accurately into the electronic system.

JOB SUMMARY:

Order, collecting, process routine and specialty testing, and returning results back to doctor. Obtain, process doctors orders, and data entry. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure. Collects blood samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling samples. Follows clinic & hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering of samples to laboratory. Perform CLIA waived moderate testing

Duties And Responsibilities

• Proficiency in collecting correct blood samples and other body fluids, ensuring proper patient identification and labeling of samples.
• Follows hospital policies and procedures for transporting and delivering samples to laboratory.
• Knowledge of handling laboratory supplies and stocks supplies.
• Ensure that patients receive appropriate competent and quality clinical care and that customer service meets patient's expectation.
• Adherence by staff to all policy and procedures.
• Provides age appropriate care.
• Reporting monitoring and management of patient and staff incidents.
• Monitoring and management of patient and physician satisfaction results.Follows standards precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Knowledge and performance of sterile tech.
• Maintain, develop and utilize professional relationships with a wide range of organizations and specialists.
• Maintain effective working relationships between nursing, clerical, medical and allied health staff.
• May perform special tests such as clotting times, bleeding times, and glucose tolerance tests and report results to other lab personal.
• Maintains strict quality control for procedures.
• Organize requisitions received for collection, Maintains records of tests performed Scanning orders and lab results into electronic medical system, print and fax lab reports to ordering doctor.
• Maintains Point of Care documents and performs Quality Control management.
• Orients and mentors new staff members
