Mountain View Hospital in Idaho Falls is seeking a Histology Assistant to join our team. You will obtain valid histology orders, process orders, data entry, and ensure proper patient identification and labeling of reference lab samples.
You will provide excellent customer service to patients and staff. Duties include preparing histology and cytology specimens, labeling tissue for gross exam, processing requisitions, monitoring supplies, staining slides, and preparing reagents under supervision.

Obtain valid histology orders, process orders, and data entry. Process incoming reference lab samples ensuring proper patient identification and labeling. Follow applicable hospital policies and procedures for transporting/delivering of samples to laboratory. Provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person to all patients, providers, nurses and other medical staff. Work well under pressure.

Education/Certification: High School Diploma or higher. Hold a current BLS Certification. Hold a valid driver’s license.
Experience: 0-1 years of laboratory experience required.
Equipment/Technology: Experience with computers and office equipment, required
Language/Communication: The ability to read and communicate (oral and written) effectively in English. Bilingual is a plus. Must be able to understand medical terminology.
