Job summary

Salem Clinic Inland Shores is seeking a Lab Assistant I to join our Keizer, OR location. You will support blood, urine, and specimen collection, perform EKGs, and operate within EHR and LIS to manage patient orders and processing.

The role requires phlebotomy training and certification, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work varied shifts; we offer full-time opportunities with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy school or equivalent experience.
• Phlebotomy certification by a national testing agency or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of Medical terminology as it applies to nomenclature associated with Laboratory Diagnostic orders.
• Effective organizational, planning, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patient and supports patient safety through accurate patient identification.
• Independently researches sample collection and handling requirements.
• Performs sample collection via venipuncture and capillary punctures.
• Plans, prioritizes, and organizes workload to support minimal delays.
• Exercises knowledge of and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Instruct patients with specimen collection procedures.
• Manages orders between EHR and LIS to facilitate accurate sample collection and billing.
