Job summary

Avera Health in Yankton, SD, is seeking a Cook/ Food Services worker for patient and staff meals. You will prepare, cook, and distribute meals per approved menus and time schedules, ensuring quality, sanitation, and service standards.

You will also support dietary procedures and assist with additional tasks as assigned. The role requires a High School diploma or GED, ServSafe certification preferred, and the ability to work the stated hours, including every other weekend/holiday.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ServSafe Certificate preferred.
• Less than 1 year of food service/cooking-related education or training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items for patients/residents, meal service, staff, cafeteria and special functions.
• Delivers products according to time schedule.
• Maintains sanitation and quality standards per leadership guidance.
• Provides excellent customer service using established scripts.
• Follows dietary procedures and assists with additional tasks as assigned.
