Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Food Service Worker to provide patient meal service, assist with meal ordering, and deliver meals and snacks. You will act as a liaison to other departments to coordinate dietary needs and ensure accuracy in patient meals.

The role emphasizes CARE standards, teamwork, safety, and adherence to health guidelines, with documentation in the electronic medical record and routine sanitation duties.

Qualifications

• Required Education: High School or GED Equivalent; one to three months related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service utilizing CARE standards when assisting patients with meal ordering, delivering meals and snacks, and communicating with other departments regarding dietary orders.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the food service software system used for recording patient and guest meal orders.
• Delivers meals to patient rooms in a timely manner and assists with meal setup as needed.
• Records meal and fluid intake in the electronic medical record and completes daily sanitation tasks.
