Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Dental Care is seeking a Clinic Dispensing Assistant to support IMS operations, inventory and sterilization preparation of instruments and supplies. The role involves patient care areas, labs and simulation spaces, ensuring equipment readiness and accuracy.

The preferred candidate will have dental/instrument experience, knowledge of tracking systems, and prior academic healthcare exposure while maintaining strong attention to detail and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with dental instruments preferred.
• Knowledge of instrument tracking systems beneficial.
• Academic healthcare environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional customer service and work effectively with staff and clinical areas.
• Maintain accuracy, organization, and attention to detail when handling instruments, equipment, and inventory.
• Use computer, scanning, and inventory tracking systems effectively.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain reliable attendance and follow established procedures.
• Lift 20–50 pounds and perform work requiring extended standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements.
