Job summary

Oak Street Health is hiring a Medical Scribe to assist primary care providers with clinical documentation in our Chicago clinics. You will observe patient visits, document encounters, and support timely coding and after-visit summaries to ensure smooth patient care.

The ideal candidate understands medical terminology, has clinical exposure, and exhibits strong typing and computer skills. This full-time role includes comprehensive benefits and requires a minimum 1-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience (shadowing/volunteering) preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note with history of present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes.
• Prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
• Administrative support for the care team.
