Job summary

Oak Street Health seeks a Medical Scribe to support primary care providers by documenting patient encounters and maintaining precise clinical records. The role focuses on structured notes, coding, and post-visit summaries, enabling clinicians to prioritize patient care.

Ideal candidates have solid medical terminology knowledge, plus shadowing or volunteering in clinical settings. The position is full-time at our Baton Rouge clinics, with comprehensive benefits and a strong team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications from pre-med or clinical experience.
• Prior clinical shadowing or volunteering strongly preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in a structured note with history of present illness, assessment, plan, and physical exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare After Visit Summaries.
• Support Daily Huddles and Clinical Documentation Reviews.
• Provide administrative support to the care team.
