Job summary

The University of Miami Health System IT Department seeks a full-time Clinical Informaticist 4 (Lead) to guide clinical informatics at the Miami, Florida campus. The role oversees major projects, optimizes clinical applications, and drives overall efficiency and compliance across systems.

Ideal candidates have extensive leadership experience, Epic expertise, and a track record in change management, workflow validation, and system enhancements within healthcare IT environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 8 years experience in clinical operations, hospital IT, or healthcare vendor.
• Experience leading implementations of modules or systems, preferably Epic.
• Proficiency with metrics/outcomes development and measurement.
• Epic Certification in at least one core clinical application.
• Lean Certification.
• Informatics Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Oversees strategic management and optimization of clinical applications.
• Directs documentation and training for end users.
• Leads workflow validation projects and defines requirements.
• Manages software upgrades, testing, and validation.
• Oversees software updates/releases planning and reporting.
• Ensures data accuracy, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
• Leads change management with senior stakeholders.
• Designs and implements major system enhancements.
• Directs database conversions and advanced system analysis.
• Provides expert-level training and user support.
• Oversees SLA management and aligns with goals.
• Sets priorities and manages resources within the area.
• Leads large-scale clinical informatics projects.
