Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse Educator to foster a culture of excellence and learning among staff through competency assessments, education, and team-building activities. The role emphasizes ongoing evaluation of care quality via staff competency and documentation in medical records.

The ideal candidate will lead educational initiatives, support nursing staff development, and collaborate with DHS on learning needs while maintaining infection control and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduate of an accredited/approved RN program.
• Experience implementing and maintaining policy-driven practices, familiarity with state/federal regulations is a plus.
• Experience in providing patient, family and/or staff education is strongly encouraged.
• Current and unrestricted RN licensure in state of practice with CPR (BLS) certification.
• Preferred: CPR Instructor certification and certification from a nationally accredited nursing organization.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinical competency assessment and training needs of clinical staff based on evaluation and patient acuity.
• Provide education on topics focusing on development of clinical skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills of partners.
• Participate in interview and selection process of clinical staff.
• Complete initial competency assessments during orientation and yearly reviews.
• Oversee preceptor program, train preceptors, and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
• Conduct competency assessments to determine partner learning needs and coordinate education plans with DHS.
