Job Summary: Under the direction of the Education Director, the CNA Program Clinical Educator is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the CNA program for student education, directed toward the achievement of professional excellence. Serves as the primary CNA Clinical Instructor for each 8‑week CNA Class, establishing professional education resources and instructional leadership for the CNA program and other outreach programs directed to health care professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Acts as a clinical instructor for CNA students in the CNA program both onsite and at offsite facilities, including long term care facilities.
  • Provides leadership for the assessment of learning/resource needs and the subsequent establishment of directional goals for student and staff development that are compatible with service teaching and objectives.
  • Establishes and maintains knowledge of current health care information, and media and material resources to assist and support student and staff education and professional development.
  • Functions as a liaison with community health professionals to promote hospital professional/education programs and services.
  • Availability to work a varied schedule, including evening and weekend shifts, on a rotational basis.
Requirements
Education
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • BSN or MSN preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Current Idaho or compact state RN License.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience

Five+ years in nursing required.

Previous teaching experience in formal/informal settings.

Recent nursing experience required and current in skills/best practices.

Experience working with long‑term care preferred.

Able and willing to be American Heart Association, Emergency Nurses Association, and American Academy of Pediatrics instructor.

Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in demonstrating and teaching CNA skills in accordance with Idaho State testing requirements.
  • Strong understanding of geriatric and rehabilitative patient needs.
  • Ability to teach and model safe patient care practices and effective time management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage and motivate students.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs. occasionally; frequent patient handling and transfers.
  • Standing for extended periods and occasional sitting for up to 7 hours per day.
  • Frequent exposure to patients under a wide range of circumstances, including infectious diseases.
Environmental Conditions
  • Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens, varying patient conditions, and environmental hazards.
  • Occasional irregular hours or shifts.
