Job summary

University Hospitals in Beachwood, OH, is seeking a Clinical Educator for the Ahuja ICU & SDU to lead clinical education across shifts, evaluate staff competency, and promote evidence-based practice.

The role partners with Nursing Education to identify learning needs, develop strategies, coach staff, and ensure accreditation standards are met while providing patient care as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years ICU/SDU RN experience required.
• Experience in education or teaching in a clinical setting required.
• BSN degree required; MSN preferred.
• RN license in Ohio or Multi-State Compact.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred.

Clinical Educator- Ahuja ICU & SDU - ( 2600095C )

A Brief Overview

The clinical educator provides and evaluates clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff on all shifts and facilitates evidenced-based practice.

What You Will Do

• Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.
• Supports leadership by facilitating staff’s adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Exhibits leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.
• Works collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation.
• Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) to include: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.
• Provides patient care as required.

Additional Responsibilities

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education

• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)

(MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing or related field (Preferred)

Work Experience

• 3+ years of ICU and/ or SDU RN clinical experience (Required) and
• Experience with education, teaching in clinical setting (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

• Certification in a specialty clinical area or nursing professional development (Required within 1 Year)
