Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Clinical Educator to provide and evaluate clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff across all shifts, promoting evidenced-based practice.

You will collaborate with Nursing Education to identify learning needs, develop educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation, while upholding ANA standards and the Nursing Professional Development Code of Ethics.

• Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.

• Partners with Nursing Education to identify learning needs and implement educational strategies and evaluate learning effectiveness.
• Adheres to ANA standards and Code of Ethics for Nursing Professional Development roles.
• Provides patient care as required.

A Brief Overview

The clinical educator provides and evaluates clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff on all shifts and facilitates evidenced-based practice.

What You Will Do

• Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.
• Supports leadership by facilitating staff’s adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Exhibits leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.
• Works collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation.
• Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) to include: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.
• Provides patient care as required.
