Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for its Intensive Care Unit. Provides safe, age-appropriate nursing care using the nursing process to help patients and families attain optimal health.

The role requires an Ohio RN license, 1 year of RN experience with ICU preferred, and completion of a nursing degree (Diploma/ADN required; BSN preferred). BLS may be required; ACLS/PALS as unit needs dictate. This is a full-time, on-site ICU position in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Must hold Ohio RN license upon hire.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; ICU experience preferred.
• Diploma in Nursing or ADN required; BSN preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS may be required.

A Brief Overview

Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Education

• Other Accredited Program: Diploma in Nursing or
• (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)

• (MN) Master in Nursing (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
• 1 year of RN experience required. Prior ICU experience strongly preferred
• $6000 Sign on Bonus for external applicants with 1 year of RN experience

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire) or obtained in nursing orientation
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
