Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus is seeking a Clinical Educator to provide orientation and education for clinical nursing personnel in the Medical 4 South unit, ensuring consistent standards and competencies in patient care. The role aligns with Franciscan Alliance values and organizational goals to improve patient and staff outcomes.

The position is part-time (10 hours weekly) with shifts mainly during days and potential nights/weekends as needed for orientee needs or competency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Minimum 3 years nursing/patient care experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• RN license in the state.
• Board certification preferred.
• 3 years of department-specific knowledge preferred.
• Master's degree in nursing education/leadership/clinical nurse specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates orientation for newly hired nursing staff and nursing support staff.
• Acts as a change agent assisting in the implementation and sustainment of change strategies.
• Delivers just in time education based on learning needs.
• Facilitates communication between management, staff, and ancillary departments.
• Serves as a reliable source of information on the latest evidence in clinical practice.

Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board

Board Certification (BRD CERT) - preferred

The Clinical Educator is responsible for providing orientation and education for clinical nursing personnel in the Medical 4 South unit to ensure consistent standards of practice and competencies in the delivery of patient care.
