Job summary

Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus seeks a Clinical Nurse Specialist to enhance perioperative care through evidence-based practice and research integration. You will lead as the clinical expert for perioperative patient care and drive innovative solutions in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

Travel is required; Master’s CNS focus, 3 years of CNS experience, and BLS certification are required along with Indiana RN licensure.

Qualifications

  • Critical Care/ICU experience with evidence-based practice and quality improvement.
  • Master's degree with clinical CNS focus.
  • 3 years CNS clinical experience required.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association).
  • RN license in Indiana.

Responsibilities

  • Advance nursing practice by implementing innovative solutions addressing complex patient care issues.
  • Serve as clinical expert in perioperative patient care.
  • Assist with surgical care in line with regulations.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice into perioperative environment.
  • Develop and evaluate educational programs for perioperative patients, families, staff and community.
  • Act as change agent with a multidisciplinary team to improve perioperative outcomes.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
  • Full Time Days

  • Advance practice of nursing by implementing innovative alternative solutions that address complex system problems and/or patient care issues.

  • Serve as clinical expert in the delivery of perioperative patient care.

  • Assist with the provision of surgical care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.

  • Integrate research into the perioperative clinical environment through the implementation of evidence-based practice.

  • Develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate educational programs for perioperative patients and their families, staff, and the community.

  • As part of a multi-disciplinary team, act as a change agent to develop system performance standards to improve perioperative patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Critical Care/ICU experience required with demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practice, quality improvement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and management of complex critically ill patients

  • Required Master's Degree Clinical focus program as a CNS

  • 3 years Clinical area of expertise Required

  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - State Licensing Board

  • Unit Specific Certifications - Franciscan Alliance As Required by Unit
