Job summary

PruittHealth is seeking a Clinical Competency Coordinator to lead education, competency assessments, and staff development. The role emphasizes hands-on training, orientation, and ongoing evaluation of clinical staff to ensure high standards of care.

The Coordinator will oversee preceptors, collaborate with DHS and unit managers, and ensure documentation and regulatory compliance while promoting continuous learning through Pruitt University and other resources.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word; Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
• Knowledge and use of Adult Learning Principles.
• Work history with volunteer or paid teaching experiences including competency assessment.
• Excellent clinical assessment skills and the ability to teach these skills using Adult Learning principles.
• Maintain clinical competency through ongoing use of Pruitt University and other resources.
• Participation in center/agency surveys (Licensure)

Responsibilities

• Coordinates clinical competency assessment and training needs of staff.
• Provides relevant education on clinical skills, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Participates in interview and selection of clinical staff.
• Completes initial and ongoing competency assessments during orientation and as needed.
• Oversees preceptor program and trains staff to be preceptors.
• Monitors infection control practices and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintains documentation of partner education per regulations.
