Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to enhance the quality and completeness of provider-based clinical documentation. You will review patient records and help providers ensure accuracy for illness severity and services rendered.

You will work with providers, coders and care teams to develop education on documentation improvement and manage clarification requests. This remote role is per diem with state-based eligibility.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of inpatient coding experience.
  • RN with active state licensure OR Certification: RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS.

Job Summary

As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you work to improve the overall quality and completeness of provider-based clinical documentation. This includes reviewing patient records and assisting providers to ensure patient records are accurate for severity of illness and level of services rendered.

In this role, you will work with providers, coders and other patient care team members for comprehensive patient documentation. You will also develop and deliver clinical documentation improvement education to providers, and you will formulate, monitor and respond to all compliant documentation clarification requests.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • 1-2 years of inpatient coding experience
  • RN with active state licensure OR Certification: RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Nursing or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field
  • Experience with acute care inpatient coding or clinical documentation improvement
  • RN, RHIA/ RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS certification
Salary Range - $41,600 - $134,680

This is a remote position; however, employment is limited to residents of certain U.S. states due to legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.
