Job summary

ProMedica is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to enhance the quality and completeness of provider-based clinical documentation. You will review patient records and help providers ensure accuracy for illness severity and services rendered.

You will work with providers, coders and care teams to develop education on documentation improvement and manage clarification requests. This remote role is per diem with state-based eligibility.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of inpatient coding experience.
• RN with active state licensure OR Certification: RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS.

Responsibilities

• Review patient records to improve quality and completeness of clinical documentation.
• Assist providers to ensure accuracy for severity of illness and level of services rendered.
• Develop and deliver clinical documentation improvement education to providers.
• Collaborate with providers, coders and care team; monitor and respond to documentation clarification requests.
