Job summary

Oak Street Health in Topeka is seeking a Medical Scribe to support providers with real-time documentation during patient visits. This on-site, full-time role involves documenting encounters, coding with CPT/ICD-10, and preparing after-visit summaries.

As a successful candidate, you will have knowledge of medical terminology, clinical experience, and strong typing skills; Spanish/Polish/Russian language skills are a plus. HIPAA compliance and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and common medications.
• Prior clinical experience (shadowing/volunteering) preferred.
• Scribe or transcription experience preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other languages spoken by communities served.

Responsibilities

• Document patient encounters in real time, including history, assessment, plan and exam.
• Assign CPT and ICD-10 codes and prepare after-visit summaries.
• Support clinical documentation improvement and review medical records.
• Provide administrative support to care team and place orders as needed.
