Mosaic Life Care is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to perform CDI reviews, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and determine DRG baselines. The role requires strong clinical documentation skills and collaboration with physicians to ensure accurate coding and documentation.

The position emphasizes ongoing professional development, mortality and quality reviews, and participation in interdisciplinary rounds.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• 3 years of ICU/critical care clinical experience is required.
• CCDS certification is required within 2 years.
• Strong data entry and writing skills are needed.
• Ability to work with interruptions and flexible hours.
• Knowledge of care delivery documentation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret medical records and encoder instructions.
• Visual and hearing acuity is needed.

Responsabilités

• Perform basic to intermediate CDI reviews and re-reviews with supervision.
• Submit queries to providers and complete first and second appeal levels.
• Assign and update ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRG baselines.
• Identify documentation gaps and communicate with providers to capture proper documentation.
• Complete second level reviews including mortality and quality reviews.
• Participate in staff training and departmental improvement activities.
• Pursue professional development opportunities and meet productivity goals.
