Merck is seeking a Principal Scientist (Clinical Director) in Translational Medicine focused on cardiovascular disease. The role requires leading early clinical development, biomarker strategy, and cross-functional collaboration across therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD; proven track record in clinical medicine or clinical research.
• Strong publications or presentations; collaborative across therapeutic areas.
• Excellent interpersonal, writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead early clinical development strategy from Preclinical Candidate through Phase 2.
• Develop biomarker strategies for First-in-Human to Proof-of-Concept studies.
• Validate targets with clinical perspective and conduct related clinical studies.
• Oversee clinical pharmacology strategies from Phase 2 to worldwide filings.
• Design and execute studies to validate clinical platforms using biomarkers and imaging.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams including discovery, biostatistics, regulatory, and global trials.
