Qualifications

• Passed the CDR exam or meets eligibility requirements by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years as per CDR requirements.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments to set up procedures and policies in dining service and nutrition.
• Participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.
