St. David’s Georgetown Hospital is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join its inpatient nutrition team. The Dietitian will perform inpatient consults, provide Medical Nutrition Therapy, and support the Dietary Manager and staff in a busy hospital setting.

Qualified candidates must be a Registered Dietitian with a Texas license and hold a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition; clinical dietetics experience in acute care is preferred. This role is with HCA Healthcare and includes comprehensive benefits.

Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: The Dietitian will be responsible for inpatient consults. Will act as a resource to the Dietary Manager and Dietary staff and will assist with special projects and PI as requested by the Director. Must be able to work well with patients, the hospital staff and medical staff. Must be a Registered Dietitian and hold a current Texas license.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responds to inpatient dietary consults and related chart documentation.
2. Provides Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to outpatients as well as out-patient counseling as requested.
3. Schedule MNT appointments and bill the service through Meditech flowing each session.
4. Provide Admission with an outpatient schedule, including physician referrals, weekly.
5. In the absence of the Director, and when requested, respond to inpatient dietary consults and related chart documentation.
6. Act as a resource for the Dietary Manager and Dietary staff.
7. Special projects as requested.
8. Assist with PI as requested.
9. Provides weekend & holiday Dietitian coverage for the department.
10. Back-up Registered Dietitian services as needed to cover for vacation/sick leave.
11. Professional Requirements:

• Completes annual educational requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of clinical areas of nutrition practice. Ability to communicate prescribed nutrition therapy to patients.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Required: Graduation from an accredited university with Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition.
• Preferred: Clinical dietetics experience in an acute care setting.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

• Required: ADA credentials of Registered Dietitian (R.D.). State of Texas licensure – Licensed Dietitian (L.D.)
