Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Clinical Dietitian PRN to provide medical nutrition therapy and individualized care for inpatients and outpatients.

You will perform nutrition screenings, counseling and documentation while supporting interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic hospital setting. You will also assist the Food Service Department with diet-specific food choices and collaborate with physicians on nutritional plans to support recovery and health

Qualifications

  • The Registered Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy to inpatients and/or outpatients.
  • Licensed Dietitian must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients on modified diets.
  • </br>
  • Conduct nutritional screenings and assessments.
  • Collaborate with physicians to coordinate and implement nutritional recommendations.
  • Identify and communicate nutritional implications of medications and document in patient records.
  • Assist Food Service Department Dietary Aides with patient food selection per prescribed diet.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Registered Dietitian provides medical nutrition therapy to inpatients and/or outpatients via nutrition screenings, assessments, consultations and counseling sessions. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for nutritional management and care of patients according to physician diagnoses. Prepares appropriate documentation and follow-up for same. Responsibilities will include performance improvement and assisting in department, if needed. Reviews the interdisciplinary screening process and assigns a priority level of risk for patients.

  • You will identify and communicate potential nutritional implications of medications and document this information in patients' records
  • You will assist the Food Service Department Dietary Aides with patient food selection and which foods are allowed and disallowed based on the prescribed diet
