We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our team!

Hospital Details

Ballard Rehab Hospital, located in San Bernardino, CA, is a 60-bed rehab facility providing rehabilitative services to people recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly environment where you get to know your patients and their families.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the quality of nutritional care provided to both hospitalized and ambulatory patients. Performs nutritional assessments/evaluations, makes dietary recommendations, provides patient counseling and education, develops nutritional care plans, and monitors and implements changes as appropriate. Implements nutrition therapy orders and verifies their implementation. Monitors and evaluates patient adherence, acceptance, and tolerance for prescribed nutrition therapy. Re-evaluates and updates nutrition care regularly. Also, plans and directs the nutrition office.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Current, valid, and active license and/or certification to practice as a Registered Dietitian in the state of employment required.
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting required.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Current BLS certification from a Vibra-approved vendor preferred.
• Knowledge of modern principles and practices of dietetics preferred.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards applicable to hospital food service preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritizing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal drug use and effects of substance abuse in the workplace.
