Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Clinical Dietitian, you will assess patients' nutritional status and design programs to improve or maintain their health. You will serve as a consultant within the Food and Nutrition Department, advising on menu options, snacks, and nutritional provisions.

  • Provide evidence-based nutrition counseling to patients on modified diets.
  • Conduct nutritional screenings and assessments.
  • Collaborate with physicians to implement nutritional recommendations.
  • Identify and communicate potential nutritional implications of medications, documenting in patient records.
  • Assist Food Service Department staff with patient food selections and dietary restrictions.
Qualifications Needed:

Experience

  • Experience with Meditech electronic charting – preferred.
  • One year of clinical nutrition experience in an acute care hospital – preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition with a completed Didactic internship or coordinated program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Dietitian (R.D.) credential or eligibility with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensed Dietitian (L.D.) in Texas within 90 days of employment.
  • Current ServSafe Food Handler Permit, Travis County Food Handler Card, or State Food Safety permit – preferred.
