Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to optimize patient flow on the nursing unit, coordinating care and communication across shifts. The role requires RN licensure in Virginia, BLS/HCP, and at least three years of clinical or supervisory experience in an acute care setting.

You will organize work with input from patients and families, supervise staff as needed, and participate in flexible shift rotations including weekends and holidays to meet unit needs.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state required.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience.
• Charge Nurse or supervisory experience preferred.
• Diploma or AS in nursing; RN to BSN enrollment required within 2 years and completion within 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient flow and coordinates nursing unit activities during the shift.
• Ensures delivery of patient care in an efficient, caring and courteous manner.
• Organizes work with input from patients/families; applies sound clinical judgment.
• Supervises staff on the unit (RNs, LPNs, care partners, and others) when applicable.
• Shift rotation and scheduling may be adjusted to meet unit requirements.
