Responsible for facilitating patient flow through the unit, reviewing staffing and creating nursing assignments, supervising patient care, expediting tests and services with other departments, and ensuring compliance with all DOH, TJC, and hospital regulations.
Minimum Education:
Required: All hires after July 2012 are required to have a Bachelor's Degree in nursing OR if Associates Degree or Diploma, RN must be actively enrolled in a BSN program and complete within 5 years of hire date or internal RN promotion date.
Preferred: Certificate and/or Advanced Specialized or Technical Training Progressive Care or Med-Surg.
Required: Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
3 years acute care nursing experience.
Required: License, Registry or Certification:
Current New Jersey RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI, stroke training 8 hours per year
Trauma and sexual assault training is required within 1 year of hire.
Current American Heart Association CPR Certification
ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire
Preferred: Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or other related specialty certification.
Required: Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Complete yearly competency based program, use hospital approved equipment, excellent communication and conflict resolution skills, well organized and able to remain calm under stress, delegate appropriate tasks, knowledgeable in both DOH and TJC regulations and hospital policy and procedure.
