Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a skilled clinical coder to bridge between physicians and coding teams. You will guide documentation, ensure coding accuracy, and support audits and training for providers in a flexible remote setting.

The role emphasizes physician education, compliance with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS II, and collaboration with leadership to improve revenue integrity. Remote work is supported with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of physician medical coding experience (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS II) in a multi-specialty clinic.
• Credentialing from AHIMA and/or AAPC (CPC, CCS-P, RHIA, RHIT) to be maintained annually.
• Experience teaching or mentoring physicians, coders, or staff in coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between coding teams and providers to resolve inquiries.
• Collaborate to analyze trends and implement educational initiatives or system edits.
• Provide annual education on code set updates to maintain compliance and accuracy.
• Conduct annual provider audits to validate charges and documentation.
