Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to join our clinical team. Under the direction of licensed clinicians, you will provide direct patient care, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment.

This role requires strong English communication, interpersonal skills, and basic medical knowledge. The position is non-exempt, full-time with shifts typically 7a-3p, and may include a signing bonus.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or GED and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrates competency in Patient Care Technician I level or equivalent inpatient/outpatient care experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to gather information, build relationships and provide exceptional service to patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of licensed clinicians.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor patient conditions.
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility.
• Support safety and de-escalation efforts as needed.
• Assist in treatments and procedures by preparing equipment and supplies.
• Communicate observations to RNs and other team members.
• Maintain patient and unit supplies and respond to inquiries promptly.
