Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Clinical Care Technician to support nursing staff in patient care on assigned units. This role involves direct patient assistance, safety checks, and environmental support under supervision of a professional nurse.

The position requires Basic Life Support (BLS) and preferably CNA/MA certification, with duties ranging from activities of daily living to specimen collection and ECGs in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS Certification.
• CNA or MA certification preferred.
• Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited program preferred.
• 1 year of related NA/PCA/CCT/PCT experience preferable.
• Acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional registered nurse in patient care tasks as delegated.
• Help patients with activities of daily living safely and respectfully.
• Greet patients and respond to requests; escalate to nurse as needed.
• Record and communicate patient data to the assigned nurse promptly.
• Prepare rooms for admission/transfer/discharge with standardized equipment.
• Transport patients as needed and provide sitter support per guidelines.
• Provide comfort measures and assist with mobility as assigned.
• Set up for procedures and assist nursing/medical staff as required.
• Clean and discard used equipment following procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform basic specimen testing.
• Maintain biomedical equipment and report malfunctions.
• Assist with wound care and EKGs as directed.
• Connect monitoring equipment to patients under supervision.
• Care for patient belongings and document belongings list.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Respond to call lights and perform hourly rounds.
