Job summary

Young Adult Institute, Inc. is seeking Health Care Specialists to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing ADL assistance, personal care, and counseling under RN supervision.

You will oversee medical systems, train staff, and ensure accurate documentation across residential programs. Responsibilities include coordinating with the nursing team, managing medication inventories, and ensuring safety and health through AMAP-certified care, SCIP-R and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years direct support in a YAI program, with 1 year on morning shift handling medical duties.
• AMAP certification for at least 1 year in good standing.
• SCIP‑R and CPR certifications required.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform DSP duties plus HCS tasks across programs and regions as needed.
• Train new staff in medical needs and DA systems.
• Coordinate medical appointments and followups with nurses and IDT.
• Maintain medication inventory and documentation with accuracy.
