Job summary

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a patient-facing clinical setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Completion of a medical assistant training course that includes phlebotomy training is highly desired.
• Familiarity with EPIC-Care or similar EMR systems is preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Take patient vitals, including blood pressure.
• Perform phlebotomy duties as needed.
• Coordinate collection of samples and submission to labs.
• Maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Prepare instruments and equipment for patient visits.
• Manage medical-supply inventories and verify expirations.
• Register patients and verify eligibility in the practice system.
• Schedule lab and diagnostic tests and inform patients.
• Oversee daily workflow in the clinical area and escalate issues.
• Assist in training new staff in operations and systems.
• Provide backup secretarial support to physicians and administration.
• Handle incoming mail and communications.
