Job summary

Ohio ENT & Allergy Physicians in Westerville, OH is seeking a Clinical Care Assistant to greet patients, take vitals, room patients and support charting. You will keep exam rooms clean, manage instruments, answer calls, and help with EMR alerts. The role requires strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and familiarity with practice management software.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office environment desired.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Knowledge of practice management software, timekeeping software and EHR packages.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.
• Adhere to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations and guidelines.
• Must be aware of and comply with all OSHA standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and take vitals as needed.
• Room patients and complete chart documentation.
• Clean exam rooms and instruments per protocol.
• Assist in tracking medical and office supplies.
• Distribute/route faxes, test results and letters as necessary.
• Answer and return patient calls in a timely manner.
• Manage EMR desktop and alerts/flags.
• Assist physicians during procedures.
• Prepare sterile kits per protocol.
• Provide discharge instructions and review handouts with patients.

Summary of Duties

Responsibilities of the Clinical Care Assistant include greeting patients, taking vitals as needed, rooming the patient, completing chart documentation, cleaning exam rooms, cleaning instruments/scopes, answering phones and returning calls in a timely manner.

Essential Functions

• Appropriately document patient’s chief complaint in medical record.
• Verify all test results are ready for the physician.
• Clean instruments per protocol and maintain a clean work area.
• Assist in tracking medical and office supplies.
• Distribute/route faxes, test results, referral letters, etc. as necessary.
• Answer incoming phone calls and return patient calls in a timely manner.
• Manage EMR desktop and alerts/flags.
• Assist physicians during procedures.
• Prepare and date sterile kits per protocol.
• Provide discharge instruction/education to patients and review handouts with patients.
