Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is seeking a Senior BI Analyst to collaborate with clinical and IT teams. You will gather business requirements, translate them into scalable BI solutions, and mentor stakeholders to enhance analytics capabilities across the health system.

You will design reports and dashboards using SQL, Power BI, and Tableau; lead data mapping, testing, and documentation, and ensure reliable, high-value insights for strategic decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field and 3+ years in BI and data analytics.
• 3+ years with BI tools such as Fabric/Power BI/Tableau/Business Objects.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Physicians Builders and stakeholders to develop data solutions addressing clinical/workflow inefficiencies.
• Mentor clinical providers in analytics and reporting.
• Design and build medium-to-complex BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations using SQL, Crystal Reports, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Tableau.
• Conduct requirements discovery, data mapping, and process documentation for reporting aligned with business goals.
• Interpret data architecture models, including data flow and entity relationships.
• Perform complex data extraction and transformation with attention to quality and performance.
• Write and validate test plans, conduct UAT, and support QA processes.
• Ensure dashboards and reports are reliably available and refreshed.
• Create ad-hoc analyses and advise leadership and operational teams.
• Maintain documentation and training materials for supported reports and systems.
• Develop deep subject matter expertise in UMMS data domains.
• Align IT and analytics initiatives with UMMS strategic goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
