Job summary

Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking a compassionate Clinical Assistant to support providers and deliver exceptional patient care in a fast-paced orthopedic practice. You will assist with patient intake, clinical procedures, documentation, and care coordination while helping ensure a positive experience for every patient.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking histories, performing basic clinical duties, preparing exam rooms, and educating patients on treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical or medical office setting preferred.
• Proficient in documenting patient information in EHRs.
• Understanding of HIPAA and infection control standards.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, collect medical histories, and document in EHR.
• Assist with basic clinical duties including vital signs, casting, and injections as assigned.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure providers have necessary information for efficient visits.
• Assist providers with patient care and orthopedic treatment plans.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, follow-up care, and instructions.
• Accurately document encounters, test results, and clinical information.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and infection control standards.
• Monitor and stock supplies; ensure equipment is ready for use.
• Collaborate with providers and team to coordinate patient care.
• Deliver excellent customer service and a positive patient/family experience.
