Job summary

Arkansas Heart Hospital is seeking an EMR and clinical applications Analyst to serve as the subject matter expert for Oracle Millennium EMR across hospital and clinic settings.

You will support day-to-day maintenance, upgrades, testing, implementations, and user education, while ensuring HIPAA compliance and driving improvements in patient care workflows and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional-level experience preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience developing, supporting, maintaining and/or administering information systems.
  • Experience with clinical electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain user access for clinical applications for all departments.
  • Create and maintain education for end users.
  • Assist with maintenance of all clinical applications including building user accounts, monitoring queues, correcting and filing failed documents.
  • Optimizing the EMR to meet the ongoing needs of patient care and meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Provides on-call support for clinical applications/systems.
  • Provides technical support and end-user training for clinical applications/systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of health reform initiatives, HIPAA compliance and patient care as they pertain to clinical application/system needs.
  • Monitors and reports on project activities and reports on status within published timelines.
  • Reviews documentation release(s) by software developers to keep apprised of changes and upcoming developments in software applications.
  • Communicates any software problems and issues to the software development and support teams.
  • Prepares complex program, system and user documentation for enhancements.
  • Performs complex analysis and troubleshooting for various clinical applications.
  • Provides technical support and end-user training for EMR, PACS systems and other clinical applications.
  • Explains technical material in an understandable manner to less technically proficient users.
  • Manage 3rd party Vendors to contractual obligations and elevate issues as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for being the subject matter expert for the electronic medical record (Oracle Millennium) for the hospitals and clinics and all other clinical applications supported by the IT department. Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day maintenance and function of the various applications managed by MIS department, including but not limited to frontline trouble shooting, monitoring queues, user maintenance, assisting with upgrades, testing, and implementations and configuring systems to match specific clinical needs and improve operational efficiency. Also responsible for understanding customer needs, researching issues and designing and delivering quality resolutions. Works to continually assist in improving systems through upgrades, expansion, optimization and other ongoing development efforts. Works to educate and train new and existing users on various clinical applications.

Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 40 + hours per week with some weekend and after-hours support required.

Qualifications/Specifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional-level experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certifications: None required.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience developing, supporting, maintaining and/or administering information systems. Experience with clinical electronic medical records preferred.
