Job summary

Submittd Talent is working with a seed-stage clinical AI company in New York building an end-to-end agent platform used by clinicians. The AI Product Engineer will own the platform from prototype through production, collaborating with founders and a small cross-functional team to ship trustworthy software that operates inside daily clinical workflows.

The role requires 3+ years in product engineering with LLM-based systems, production experience with agentic tooling, and Python/TypeScript

Qualifications

• 3+ years in product engineering with a focus on LLM-based systems.
• Agentic or LLM systems you've taken to production, covering tool calling, orchestration and context management.
• Experience conceptualising, architecting and building a product end to end.
• Python and TypeScript across backend and product surfaces.
• Experience with LLM evaluations, regression testing or AI observability tooling.
• Healthcare or another highly regulated domain.
• Able to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to clinicians and other non-technical people.

Responsibilities

• Own the agentic platform outright, reporting into the Head of Engineering and founders.
• Prototype new clinical AI experiences and productionize the strongest ones.
• Design evaluations, regression suites and launch criteria for quality and safety.
• Build observability across model behaviour, tool calls and end-to-end workflows.
• Collaborate with clinicians and product to translate real workflows into trustworthy software.
