Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support COA and clinic staff with clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include vital signs, medication review, refills, chart retrieval, and prior authorizations.

Under direction, the MA will collect patient data, assist RN/provider, ensure a safe care environment, and participate in patient/family teaching. Requires MA certs and applicable licensure, with pay shown.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as Medical Assistant (AAMA/AMT/NAHP/ARMA/NHA).
• EMT/Paramedic credentials per Virginia EMS.

Responsibilities

• Assist COA with clinical and administrative tasks as directed.
• Record vital signs, medication review, and refills.
• Retrieve medical records and obtain prior authorizations.
• Support clinic staff and ensure patient safety.
