Job summary

UAB Medicine in Montgomery is hiring a Clinic Technician for the Dermatology Clinic on a flex AM schedule (Monday–Friday with some Saturdays). You will greet patients, escort them to treatment rooms, and perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs and collecting urine specimens under physician or RN/LPN guidance.

You will help maintain clean rooms and stocked supplies, answer patient calls about medical questions, and support the care team with pre-load responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in a medical setting preferred.
• CPR certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients from waiting area to treatment rooms.
• Perform vital signs and collect urine specimens and other specimens as directed.
• Answer and document patient calls regarding medical questions and test results.
• Maintain clean, stocked patient rooms and clinic supplies.

Job Description

To provide a variety of specialized services that require interaction with patients, visitors and other members of the patient care team. To greet and escort patients from waiting area to treatment rooms and performs required medical testing (i.e. vital signs, obtain urine specimens, height/weight, etc.) as directed by either physician, RN/LPN or pre-designated protocol. May prepare and collect charge tickets. To answer and document patient phone calls regarding medical questions, test results and medication while in constant contact with attending physician, RN/LPN. To perform a variety of duties requiring use of independent judgment and decision making skills within well established parameters. To ensure patient rooms and instruments are clean and stocked with required supplies. To order and maintain clinic supplies. To perform pre-load responsibilities based on clinic need.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience in a medical setting preferred. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
