UAB Medicine is hiring for a flexible/PRN clinical support role in Alabama. You will greet patients, escort them to treatment rooms, and perform basic medical testing such as vital signs and specimen collection under physician or nursing supervision.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, approximately one year of medical setting experience preferred, and CPR certification (or obtained within 30 days). This position supports a busy patient care team and clinic operations.

Job Description

To provide a variety of specialized services that require interaction with patients, visitors and other members of the patient care team. To greet and escort patients from waiting area to treatment rooms and performs required medical testing (i.e. vital signs, obtain urine specimens, height/weight, etc.) as directed by either physician, RN/LPN or pre-designated protocol. May prepare and collect charge tickets. To answer and document patient phone calls regarding medical questions, test results and medication while in constant contact with attending physician, RN/LPN. To perform a variety of duties requiring use of independent judgment and decision making skills within well established parameters. To ensure patient rooms and instruments are clean and stocked with required supplies. To order and maintain clinic supplies. To perform pre-load responsibilities based on clinic need.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience in a medical setting preferred. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
