Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Schedules patients for designated outpatient services and coordinates changes in appointments through canceling or re-scheduling.
  • Works referral lists and contacts patients for appointments.
  • Collaborates and communicates with departments and physicians whose services are scheduled.
  • Interviews and registers designated patients in the computer system; pre-registers patients scheduled for less than 30 days.
  • Obtains demographics, insurances, and physician information during registration.
  • Screens registrations to ensure insurance eligibility and pre-certification and that physician referral requirements are met.
  • Assists in identifying self-pay patients and refers them to financial assistance, instructing on requirements.
  • Assists in the training and development of new employees.
