Job summary

Vail Health Hospital in Illinois is seeking a Clinic Scheduler to join our administrative team. You will answer calls, coordinate scheduling with providers, and route inquiries to the right teams, ensuring accurate patient details and timely communications.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments and tests in the EHR, collecting demographics and insurance information, and managing faxes and messages to support seamless patient care.

Qualifications

• 2 years administration or similar experience preferred.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming phone calls, field scheduling questions with providers, direct calls to appropriate parties, and distribute messages.
• Schedule appointments and tests using the electronic health record (EHR) system with patient demographics.
• Obtain patient demographics with accuracy (address, phone, insurance) and manage faxes/requests.

The Clinic Scheduler is responsible for answering incoming phone calls, fielding questions about scheduling with providers, directing calls to appropriate parties, taking and distributing messages, and scheduling appointments. Schedules medical appointments through coordination of patients, providers, locations, payers, etc. Appropriately schedules appointments, tests and/or procedures, leveraging the electronic health record (EHR) scheduling software. Obtains patient demographics with accuracy to include but not limited to patient address information, telephone number and insurance information from the patient. Distributes faxes helps manage needed requests.
